Guest Instrument Trailer Specifications:

Contractor is responsible to ensure code compliance in all building systems and designs. The designs and content contained in this document are intended to convey general requirements. Exact compliance with trade excellence standards and final code compliance is the responsibility of the bidder and any according subcontractors. Designed elements should be submitted for review prior to fabrication and a final set of drawings will be provided to the end user.

  1. Quote to be submitted as a purchase option and a lease option. Project is temporary with a scheduled term of 6-8 years.

  2. The lease option to include removal of the Guest Instrument trailer and associated construction materials once the term has expired and the facility is closed.

  3. Lease option to include maintenance agreement for Guest Instrument trailer and HVAC equipment.

  4. Guest Instrument trailer size has not been finalized and two different sizes are to be quoted. One based on a 1340-1400 sq-ft floor plan the other 1000-1100 sq-ft floor plan. The floor plan for the Guest Instrument trailer is represented in the attached drawing KS002. Dimensions shown are for reference, exact dimensions can be altered per manufacturer’s recommendation to aid in the standard construction of the Guest Instrument trailer. Floor plan is an open area with no rooms. Alterations will need to be approved by the ANL Technical Representative.

  5. Guest Instrument trailer to contain four openings with removable covers as shown in attached photos, location to be determined once final floor plan is determined. The four openings are to be 24”x24”. The roof opening only needs to be a boxed opening in the roof with a removable cover (metal cap or equivalent) that is secured from either the inside or outside that can be removed to gain an un-obstructed view of the sky. Depending on the instrument a custom cover or lens will be provided by the instrument owner. Opening to be like the 1st picture below but at a reduced size.

  6. Guest Instrument trailer to have ten 4” wall penetrations as shown in the attached drawing. Five are at 28” height above finished floor and five at 72” above finished floor level.

  7. Guest Instrument trailer to be fully skirted.

  8. Guest Instrument trailer to include platform and steps at each entrance door. Main entrance steps to be ADA compliant.

  9. Guest Instrument trailer interior to be ADA compliant where applicable. No toilet is necessary.

  10. HVAC to be designed at 2X rated capacity to account for thermal loading of test instrumentation. We are not able to provide what the thermal loading will be as we don’t know how much equipment will be running at any one time. The AC requirements are estimates based on past experience. The recommendation is to have a minimum of two units that are staged. The primary unit will maintain the building under typical conditions and the second unit will serve as a backup along with providing additional capacity if the primary unit can’t maintain a constant temperature.

  11. LED lighting throughout facility.

  12. LED lighting throughout facility.

  13. Air curtain at each door entrance.

  14. Floor coverings to be commercial grade vinyl or equivalent.

  15. Electrical Requirements:

    1. Two 200-amp service panels. One 100-amp service panel fed with a 100-amp UPS unit. UPS to be supplied by customer.

    2. Thirty 120-volt 20-amp duplex outlets. Outlets to be spaced approximately 5' apart around perimeter of facility. Three outlets max per breaker. Every other outlet (orange color) to be serviced by the UPS unit with two outlets max per breaker.

    3. Two 220-volt 50-amp outlets.

    4. Lighting to be controlled by switch mounted occupancy sensors with manual override.

    5. Provide Exit / Emergency lighting fixtures with battery backup as required by code.

  16. Data network wiring:

    1. All data cables to be routed from a corner location of the Guest Instrument trailer. Cables to have 12’ of lead, rolled, tied, unterminated, and identified per location.

    2. Wiring to be Cat-5e Unshielded Twisted Pair, solid conductor.

    3. A total of (25) jacks, two cables per drop; one black jacketed, one green jacketed. Each cable in a drop terminated to an RJ-45 jack in a single wall plate, color coded to match the cable jacket.
