Description

U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS IS SEEKING LAND



Requirement: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is currently seeking to acquire approximately 20-30 buildable acres of vacant land in the vicinity of Birmingham, AL. In addition to the preferred area, the land must meet the following criteria for consideration:





Delineated area: 50 miles south of Birmingham center along I-65 extending 15 miles on each side of I-65.





Topographic requirements: Generally flat and open with no features such as landfills, cliffs, extensive drainage ditches, wetlands, or ravines.





Site configuration: Rectangular to square.







Special requirements:



(1) Ready access to public utilities (water, sewer, electric, gas, telephone, internet)



(2) Proximity and access to major roadway corridors



(3) Adjacent roadways to property must accommodate commercial vehicles and consist of public right-of-way.



(4) Must be located outside of the FEMA 100 year flood plain, and be environmentally clean.
