ACC-RI’s Contracting Office at Blue Grass Army Depot (BGAD) intends to award a sole source contract to Craneworks, Inc for Rental Crane Services with Licensed Operator, Rigging Person, 24-hour response time, annual FAA certification, Airport Access at Birmingham–Shuttlesworth International Airport (BMH) and Access to Alabama Joint National Guard Facilities at BHM. The Alabama Joint National Guard currently has Craneworks, Inc. on contract to provide crane operation at the Birmingham–Shuttlesworth International Airport (BMH). While other crane company could obtain access and get FAA certification to work at the airport, our need is now, and a short-term need (less than 1 year) and Not to Exceed $40,000. Failure to load these weapons systems in timely manner would result in reduced capabilities to support the Global Reaction Force (GRF) initiatives abroad.
The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is FAR SUBPART 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Products and Commercial Services FAR 13.501(a) – Sole Source Justification AND Approval - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
The estimated value of the Crane Services is $40,000. The period of performance is 15 Mar 2024 – 14 Mar 2025 The anticipated award date is approximately 15 March 2024.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the Contracting Office at BGAD. Responses must be received by 7 March 2024, 4:00 PM EST. Responses must be submitted electronically to the Contract Specialist, Conner McCracken, at eric.c.mccracken.civ@army.mil. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
