Description
Rehabilitate the George Washington Carver Museum, a 14,528 ft² one-story (with basement) brick building located in the Tuskegee Institute campus National Historic Landmark District. It was originally constructed to serve as the campus laundry between 1914 and 1916 by student labor with local materials. Beginning in 1936 Tuskegee Institute modified the building to accommodate Carver's laboratory on the ground floor and part of the main floor; the majority of the main floor became a museum, dedicated in 1941.
Rehabilitation of the historic building housing the Carver Museum and other office and building space.
Responsibility for, and subcontractor management of, the subcontractor selected for packing, transport, storage, and re-installation of museum collections (artifacts handling).
Work will be ongoing at an active college campus.
Subcontracting trades includes most major trades such as electrical, masonry, HVAC and roofing.
